The influence of extensive caving zones on the state and behavior of the surface as a result of underground mining works

Abstract: The article discusses the features of the development of the Donskoy chromite deposit and the improvement of the applied development system with self-caving of ore. For a system with self-destruction of ore, as well as for other similar systems, the weakest point is mining under the collapsed massif, which largely affects the stability of mine workings, their safety for the entire period of stope excavation, the effect of extensive zones of collapse on the state and behavior surface. This problem is one of the… Show more

“…Experience shows that in most cases it is most efficient from the engineering and organizational points of view to drive horizontal and inclined transport transportation workings from the open pit side [47][48][49]. When determining the parameters of OT and OUT, the methods used for OPMO are applied [2][3][4] and technological features of determining parameters of mining operations in combined mining are also considered [53][54][55].…”

“…Changes in geoenergy are directly caused by cavities of various shapes and sizes created in the rock mass. Therefore, in order to study pre-crisis anomalies in the development of geomechanical processes preceding geodynamic phenomena, much attention has recently been paid to the energy parameters characterizing the rock mass state as an open, dissipative natural and technical system [22]- [24].…”

“…That can prove the efficiency of seismic exploration while solving following geological problems: studies of structural and tectonic formation of ore areas; singling out and specification of the ore control structures; identification and depth mapping of the ore control fractures; volumetric mapping of intrusions; determining spatial position of the ore-bearing zones inside the intrusive ones etc. [39], [40].…”
