The influence of continuous magnetic field on periodontal tissues under overdentures

Abstract: Static magnetic field is to be considered as a noninvasive procedure which is recommended to patients with reduced number of teeth and alveolar support.

“…overdenture ile rehabilite edilen hastalarda protez altı dokularda manyetik alanın periodontal yumuşak dokular üzerine etkilerini ve alveolar kemik dansitesini araştırmışlardır. 30 Bu amaçla alt çeneye uygulanan overdenture bulunan çenedeki kalan dişlere 60-80 mT statik elektrik alan oluşturan mıknatıs yerleştirerek, üste ise klasik parsiyel ile rehabilitasyon yaparak 3, 6 ve 12. aylarda periodontal değerlendirmeler ve kemik dansitometrik araştırmalar yapmışlardır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, SMA'nın jinjival marjin ve birleşim epiteline olumsuz bir etkisinin olmadığını, plak indeksini ve jinjival indeksleri olumlu yönde etkilediğini, alveolar kemikte ise dansite azalması olmamakla birlikte kontrol sahasında kemik yoğunluğunda azalma olduğunu bildirmişlerdir.…”
