As there may be a relationship between the different variables that could mask a relationship with leakage current [31,32], to determine these variables' intrinsic relationship with leakage current we also computed the partial Spearman correlation coefficient between raw leakage current and the environmental variables, which obtained a moderate average correlation above 0.20 when controlling the effect of the other variables.
