The Influence of Acoustic Power on Multibubble Sonoluminescence in Aqueous Solution Containing Organic Solutes

Abstract: The effect of varying the applied acoustic power on the extent to which the addition of water-soluble solutes affect the intensity of aqueous multibubble sonoluminescence (MBSL) has been investigated. Under most of the experimental conditions used, the addition of aliphatic alcohols to aqueous solutions was found to suppress the MBSL intensity, although an enhancement of the MBSL intensity was also observed under certain conditions. In contrast, the presence of an anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS… Show more

“…The size and the distribution of the cavitating bubbles are increased from 1.9 to 4.5 lm by varying the applied power 2-10 W and reached a saturated value after 10 W at a constant frequency of 1056 kHz (Brotchie et al 2009;Sunartio et al 2005). Similar effect of power on the bubble size is observed for the frequencies of 358, 647 and 1062 kHz (Babgi et al 2016).…”

“…Similar increase in the sonoluminescence intensity with the pulse-off time was observed at frequencies such as 213, 355, 647, 875, 1056 and 1136 kHz. The bubble radii and thus sonoluminescence intensity are influenced by various parameters such as ultrasonic frequency, power, dissolved gas, electrolytes, nature of the solvent and solution temperature (Beckett and Hua 2001;Brotchie et al 2009Brotchie et al , 2010Pflieger et al 2015;Sunartio et al 2005).…”

“…Az összeomláskor az üregekben lévő gőz/gázrészecskékre is nagy nyomás jut, felmelegednek, és energiájuk egy részét fény formájában leadják. Ezt a jelenséget nevezik szonolumineszenciának [112].…”
