The increase of exploitability of renewable energy sources

Abstract: The article stresses the significance of the use of renewable energy sources (RES) regarding the fact that the climate changes are a real problem and RES are a real solution. The article also shows the potential of biomass, solar energy, hydro energy, wind energy, and geothermal energy, as well as the actual state of exploitability of these RES in Serbia. There are identified barriers to RES implementation and proposed measures to overcome them. There are present strategies for improvement and an increase of e… Show more

“…The transmission of the heat from the glass veranda by means of the heat storage is identical to the one of the winter period. Hot air naturally heated in the rooms by natural circulation passes through the glass veranda and the channels for air stream and is partly stored in the layer of gravel under the floor of the structure, and partly is discarded through windows [9]. Curtains, deciduous trees, heat inertness of large masses, and natural ventilation prevent overheating (Fig.6a).…”

“…Its efficient and long-term use is necessary to design as soon as possible. With more significant use of solar energy, Serbia will come closer to the recommendations of the European community for the use of renewable resources, which include a significant need for more intensive use of solar energy [9].…”

“…For different regions and locations, climatic conditions including solar radiation and wind speed are always changing [6,7]. Hybrid application systems are promising substitutions which diminish this unwanted instability.…”

“…Fossil fuel reserves are limited. Statistical reserves of oil are calculated to be sufficient for some 30 years more, gas reserves for about 60 years and coal reserves for about 200 years more (Pekez et al, 2016). The increase in the price of fossil fuels, emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases that cause the greenhouse effect and climate changes will make people reduce the energy consumption.…”

“…It also produces lower or negligible levels of greenhouse gases and other pollutants when compared with the fossil energy sources they replace (Demirbas, 2009). Promoting innovative renewable applications and reinforcing the renewable energy market will contribute to the preservation of the ecosystem by reducing emissions at local and global levels (Abdeen, 2008).The technically usable energy potential of the RES in R. Serbia is very important and has been estimated to over 4.3 Mtoe per year, which makes about 20% of the total primary energy consumption (Pekez et al, 2016). R. Serbia is considered to have the potential to produce 4.89 Mtoe from RES.…”
