Likewise, Glassmann et al (2013) state that the starting point of AR is to challenge the habits and rules of the community, and then through collective action, especially a goal-driven activity, to create social change. Similarly to AR, SR encompasses change and learning to understand the needs and demands of the users, consumers, customers, and other stakeholders of the service in order to develop the service that is beneficial for all participants (Prahalad & Ramaswamy, 2004b, 2004c.…”

“…Similarly, Reason and Bradbury (2008) emphasised the production of practical knowledge and the practical outcomes from working together with people and ‘ideally involving all stakeholders’. The underlying theme in AR is the ability to learn from one another, which suggests that co-created learning is at its core (Glassmann, Bartholomew, & Hur, 2013; Gustavsen, 2008). The roots of AR emphasise societal changes and local constructivism (Gustavsen, 2008).…”

“…A few years ago, we would have been hard-pressed to recognize their names or their contributions. Our initial forays into AR focused on the work of Kurt Lewin and Chris Argyris as a framework for understanding the ways in which the Internet might change education (Glassman, Bartholomew, & Hur, 2013)—in particular the socially prescribed, often linear, relationships between the teacher and the taught. We believed it was important to move beyond more traditional approaches of knowledge building because the Internet is challenging not only our perceptions of the world but the ways in which we think at a very basic level (Glassman, 2012a).…”
