The importance of long-term well management in geothermal power systems using fuzzy control: A Western Anatolia (Turkey) case study

Abstract: Effective geothermal power generation depends on two main elements: geothermal reservoir management and maintenance of the power plant. Reservoir management consists of both the fluid production and reinjection of brine to the underground. The management of wells is important to ensure the sustainability of the reservoir. Thus, the flow rate control systems are essential to protect geothermal reservoirs under long-term power production. The second issue is the daily change in electricity prices and the load ch… Show more

“…Compared to previous cross-sectional methods used to understand the daily experiences of this highly mobile group, EMA allows for a more naturalistic approach to studying YEH behavior and their environmental circumstances [ 36 ]. Using longitudinal EMA data, Suchting et al [ 37 ] expanded on our understanding of shelter use among YEH by predicting patterns of sheltering behaviors. They revealed that stress related to not having a place to stay and experiencing discrimination to be among some of the strongest predictors for YEH not staying in shelters.…”

“…Furthermore, Tut Haklıdır [31] stated that the sustainability of geothermal reservoir relies on optimum geothermal fluid production which is possible with reservoir protection, well optimization, reservoir pressure control and effective reinjection scenarios in the geothermal field. Also, geothermal reservoirs have various thermodynamic conditions that require continuous hydrogeochemical monitoring [31].…”

“…Geothermal power plants are built around plate tectonics where high-temperature geothermal sources are available near the surface [6]- [8]. Developments and refinements in drilling and extraction technology have expanded the range of geothermal power plant construction from nearby tectonic plates [9], [10].…”
