The importance of adaptive expertise in CAD learning: maintaining design intent

Abstract: In CAD modeling, there is no one general standardized teaching-learning methodology. We use the strategic-learning methodology, maintaining design intent, fully aware that it is necessary to modify CAD models for their reuse. Questions concerning the thought processes of students when modeling with CAD and the strategies that they choose that best maintain design intent arise in the course of using the 3D modeling programs. Our aim here is to determine the importance of adaptive expertise in the results of CAD… Show more

“…Most engineering study plans have introduced the use of CAD programmes. In many cases, a traditional learning process is implemented but, recently, novel techniques and technologies have also been applied to the CAD pedagogy with satisfactory results [59]. For example, the CAD learning methodology developed by Purzer et al [57] is based on the repetition of design sequences, as well as the use of the students' electronic notes.…”

“…We used the response surface method to optimize the length and rigidity of the guide wire. The response surface is a popular method to clarify the relationship between objective functions and design factors (Cheng, Mugge and de Bont, 2018;Hu et al, 2018;Ramos Barbero, Melgosa Pedrosa and Castrillo Peña, 2018;Abi Akle, Yannou and Minel, 2019;Belkadi et al, 2019;Benavides and Lara-Rapp, 2019;Paparistodimou et al, 2019;W. “…Graphics in graphic design is one of the essential elements [9]. How to make graphics in graphic design more creative application [10] is the common pursuit of the designer 's topic. Graphics can intuitively convey the language of art with the help of simple and easy-to-understand lines outlined to express the connotation of the design [11][12].…”
