This investigation was primarily directed to the subjects of reality and the perception of reality in analytic group psychotherapy.Measurements were made of : how members of an analytic psychotherapy group perceived their own power position and the power positions of the other members of their groups; the extent to which members perceived themselves and the others to have derived therapeutic benefit from the group ; and the accuracy with which members could perceive the therapists' personal preferences for different members of the group. This data was used to shed light on the issues of reality, transference, countertransference and therapist's transparency in analytic group psychotherapy.
