Descriptive study, aiming to establish, according to the conceptual model of Florence Nightingale and to NANDA’s taxonomy II, a nursing diagnostic profile of patients with myocardial infarction, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of two hospitals, at the city of João Pessoa - PB. The sample consisted of 20 patients, to whom 19 different nursing diagnoses have been assigned. Four nursing diagnoses have reached a high frequency (≥ 75% to 100%): Risk for infection (90%), Disturbed sleep pattern(85%),Deficient diversional activity (80%) and Decreased cardiac output (75%).
