The Implementation of Supportive Classroom Environment in VII-Grade Mathematics Learning

Abstract: Mathematics is seen by some students as a subject which is not easy to learn. Thus, they need someone who can make mathematics easy, in this point, a teacher. Teachers as instructor are needed to be more innovative in developing instruction that can encourage students to get an ideal learning experience. “…To ensure genuine comprehension, I engaged them actively in class participation, and board work, and encouraged inquiries in an open and supportive atmosphere. In this connection, a study on the implementation of a supportive classroom environment revealed that this type of environment helped middle and upper-group students and suggested an enhanced approach for lower-group students (Ghany & Wahyudin, 2021). Lower-group students, however, were given special attention in this renewed perspective.…”

“…Mathematics has an important role in carrying out everyday life and in other sciences because mathematics can involve many things (Aliyah et al, 2019;Faradillah & Febriani, 2021;Ningtyas et al, 2019). Students consider mathematics to be a subject that is not easy to learn and a difficult science because mathematics involves too many complex formulas and calculations so that students find it difficult to understand concepts in mathematics and this assumption is likely to affect students' mastery of learning mathematics because they think mathematics is not based on needs it's self-imposed (Bakhri et al, 2019;Ghany & Wahyudin, 2021). Therefore students must have strong soft skills and be interested in mathematics so that students will struggle hard and never give up in completing difficult mathematical tasks and the soft skill in question is mathematical resilience (Hendriana et al, 2019).…”
