Cigna et al (2020) uses the monthly product-level U.S. imports data from its top 30 trade partners during 2016/01-2019/05 and uses difference-in-differences approach as the identification method. The first difference is the time dummy variable indicating trade tensions and the second difference is the product-level treatment dummy indicating whether one product is exposed to tariff increase or not.…”
