The Impact of Occupational Stigma on Gig Workers' Workplace Well-being

Abstract: This paper is not a clinical study, but it has some important conclusions for occupational health. Strategies for reducing occupational stigma should be prioritized to increase gig workers’ workplace well-being. Giving gig workers more control over their work is likely to buffer the detrimental effect of occupational stigma on work-contingent self-esteem.
