Despite issues with methodological quality, the overall positive findings and few reported side effects suggest neurofeedback could be helpful in alleviating fatigue and cognitive impairment. Currently, there is insufficient evidence that neurofeedback is an effective therapy for management of these symptoms in cancer survivors, however, these promising results support the need for further research with this patient population. More information about which neurofeedback technologies, approaches, and protocols could be successfully used with cancer survivors and with minimal side effects is needed. This research will have significance to nurses and physicians in oncology and primary care settings who provide follow-up care and counseling to cancer survivors experiencing debilitating symptoms in order to provide information and education related to evidence-based therapy options.

NEUROFEEDBACK IN TERMS OF SPORTIVE PERFORMANCE ABSTRACTNeurofeedback, which is known as a clinic application, is a psychophysiological application which deals with the training of brain waves in biofeedback discipline. For many years, scientists have focused on neurofeedback training method. In recent years, interest in this method which is used with the aim of increasing sportive performance has been increasing. Recognizing the cognitive and psychological process during the best performance is very important for the athletes to show their best performance and improve their sportive performance. The aim of biofeedback and neurofeedback applications is to present these processes to athletes visually and to voluntarily reach the cognitive and psychological process during best performance again. Researches show that, neurofeedback trainings improve the psychological parameters such as arousal level and anxiety as well as performance in swimming, dance and archery. These recent developments in sport science are very important for sport development in our country. The purpose of this review is to inform researchers, coaches and athletes about neurofeedback training techniques, methods, outputs and applications in sport sciences, to summarize the positive effects with evidences in literature and lastly to provide some suggestions about this method that is used in other countries so that it can also be used wide...
“…Bloom, Benjamin, Parkinson, and Gruzelier (2009) reported significant improvement in microsurgical technique following NFB training while reducing task time by 26%. NFB has been shown to increase attentional abilities; promote physical and psychological well‐being (Gruzelier & Enger, 2005); and enhance response control, mood, emotional intelligence, and self‐efficacy (Friston, Wadkins, Gerdes, & Hof, 2007).…”
Consistent with the 2009 Standards of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, counselors must understand neurobiological behavior in individuals of all developmental levels. This requires understanding the brain and strategies for applying neurobiological concepts in counseling practice, training, and research. Neurofeedback, biofeedback for the brain, is one modality based in neuroscience that empowers individuals to recognize, monitor, and self‐regulate brain wave activity to create greater wellness. Neurofeedback has significant potential in counseling preparation, research, and practice.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
