The Impact of Metabolic Syndrome on Patients Undergoing Breast Reduction Surgery

Abstract: Metabolic syndrome affects 35% of individuals in the USA and has been correlated with increased complications following certain surgical procedures. There has been an increase of 11% in breast reduction procedures from 2016 to 2017 making it the seventh most common reconstructive procedure in the USA.
