Textual analysis and the Entropy-TOPSIS method are used in this research to create a measure of corporate environmental protection, and multiple regressions are used to find out how digitalization affects corporate environmental protection. The research sets up a theoretical framework for how corporate digitalization affects environmental protection and looks into how external financing constraints and an organization’s own financial position play a role in the middle. The research then looks at how outside factors like the business environment of the market and the level of competition in the industry affect the relationship. Using a threshold regression approach, the research also examines the change in the impact of digitalization on environmental protection after investor sentiment crosses the threshold from the distinct perspective of investor sentiment. Our research provides theoretical support for environmental protection by corporations and government policy direction.

This study critically examines the implications of international transport corridor projects for Central Asian countries, focusing on the Western-backed Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA), the Chinese initiative “One Belt—One Road”, and the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) supported by the Russian Federation, India, and Iran. The analysis underscores the risks associated with Western projects, highlighting a need for a more explicit commitment to substantial infrastructure investments and persistent contradictions among key investors and beneficiaries. While the Chinese initiative presents significant benefits such as transit participation, infrastructure development, and economic investments, it also carries risks, notably an increased debt burden and potential monopolization by Chinese corporations. The study emphasizes that Central Asian countries, though indirect beneficiaries of INSTC, may not be directly involved due to geographical constraints. Study findings advocate for Central Asian nations to balance foreign investments, promote economic integration, and safeguard political and economic sovereignty. The study underscores the region’s wealth of natural and human resources, emphasizing the potential for increased demand for goods and services with improved living standards, strategically positioning these countries in the evolving global economic landscape.

Innovation networks play a key role in advancing knowledge transfer, collaboration, and technological progress across sectors and regions. Central to the understanding of the mechanisms driving such networks is their dynamic evolution and structure. Much of the literature explores spatial and socio-economic drivers of innovation networks, focusing on geographic, institutional, and cultural influences. However, many of these studies tend to overlook the intricate properties that govern the behavior and dynamics of these networks. This study seeks to address this research gap, delving deeper by investigating Chinese intercity innovation networks between 2007 and 2018. Specifically, we examine: (i) the preferential attachment dynamics within intercity innovation networks, (ii) transitivity effects that underscore the interconnectedness of these networks, and (iii) the persistence and recurrence of connections. We find that cities show indeed a remarkable tendency to form ties with others that already have numerous connections. Such transitivity effects are important in highlighting the formation of innovation clusters. Moreover, the influence of link memory suggests that past collaborations significantly determine future partnerships, similar to the persistent nature of relationships in agglomeration theories.
