Problematic Internet use (PIU) can lead to dysfunction and undesired consequences, especially in adolescents and youths. Preventive interventions can reduce them, but should be built on sound evidence. This review synthesizes the available evidence on the effectiveness of primary prevention programs for PIU in adolescents and youths. It adds to previous reviews by broadening the search to general and specific problematic behavior. Two independent reviewers performed a systematic search for published studies on PIU and internet addiction in English, French and Spanish using PubMed, PsycINFO, Cochrane Register of Controlled Trials, and Scopus. Published experimental and quasi-experimental studies that assessed the effectiveness of primary prevention programs targeting PIU behaviors were considered for inclusion. Full texts for eligible studies were retrieved and assessed for quality. Five studies were retained for narrative synthesis. Three of them based the intervention strategy on an underlying theory, one on media literacy, and one used an educational-based approach. A meta-analysis showed that all five interventions were effective in preventing internet addiction separately. However, when using the Hartung-Knapp-Sidik-Jonkman (HKSJ) estimator and removing one of the studies because of a disproportionate Hedges’ g, combined effects were no longer significant. Although PIU is a popular topic, little is known about ways to prevent it. This review demonstrates that prevention programs can be based on different theoretical approaches, but that the available evidence is too heterogeneous to derive generalizable conclusions concerning their effectiveness.

INTRODUCTIONOlder adults experiencing subjective cognitive decline (SCD) have a higher risk of dementia. Reducing this risk through behavioral interventions, which can increase emotional well‐being (mindfulness and compassion) and physical activity, is crucial in SCD.METHODSSCD‐Well is a multicenter, observer‐blind, randomized, controlled, superiority trial. Three hundred forty‐seven participants (mean [standard deviation] age: 72.7 [6.9] years; 64.6% women) were recruited from memory clinics in four European sites to assess the impact of an 8‐week caring mindfulness‐based approach for seniors (CMBAS) and a health self‐management program (HSMP) on mindfulness, self‐compassion, and physical activity.RESULTSCMBAS showed a significant within‐group increase in self‐compassion from baseline to post‐intervention and both a within‐ and between‐group increase to follow‐up visit (24 weeks). HSMP showed a significant within‐ and between‐group increase in physical activity from baseline to post‐intervention and to follow‐up visit.DISCUSSIONNon‐pharmacological interventions can differentially promote modifiable factors linked to healthy aging in older adults with SCD.

School students are our greatest asset and our hope for the future.Moreover, the stage of childhood represents the foundation for future life. Adolescence is the phase of life, extending between childhood and adulthood; Egypt's population of young people is growing dramatically. About 17 million teenagers (10 to 19 years old) make up roughly 19% of the population (UNICEF Egypt, n.d.).Electronic screens have increased widely among all people without any age barriers. Devices with screens (TV, Smart Phone, Tablet and PC) that enable us to reach various multimedia have become the essential tools in our daily life, especially for children. In the case of teens, they mainly use mobile phones, and when they get bored with mobiles, they will change to television or laptops. Now, life without screens is not even imagined for teens and adults (Lin et al., 2020).Children's and adolescents' lives are increasingly dominated by electronic screen media (ESM). Teenagers use media to learn, communicate, obtain information and seek social support, selfexpression and amusement.
