The expressive and poetic dimension of Gymnastics for All (GfA) is often recognized in choreographies performed at gymnastics festivals, emphasising its communicative and referential function. The aim of this study was to discuss the artistic-expressive dimension of GfA based on Pierre Parlebas’ theory and in the sociological notion of sportivisation. The particular and unfinished sportivisation GfA process includes the absence of institutionalised gesture codes, characterising the artistic-expressive dimension as a "potency", which therefore may or may not be part of GfA's activities, according to the decision of each group. This analysis allows us to distinguish GfA from other artistic sports, such as Rhythmic Gymnastics and Figure Skating, and from other art forms, such as dance and circus.

This study aimed at analysing the 2018 European Championships from the perspective of rhythmic gymnastics routines at junior level, based on the criterion of difficulty elements and execution times, taking into consideration the current FIG Code of Points. Secondly, we aimed at comparing the finalists' routines with those of the Romanian gymnasts according to the same criterion. Data were collected using the video analysis of 39 routines performed during the qualifications and finals for four apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. The investigated gymnasts were aged between 13 and 15 years. Descriptive statistics were used for the following cues: number of difficulty elements divided by body and apparatus difficulties and their contribution to the maximal number allowed, along with the scores and execution times for all difficulty elements performed in the routines. Data reveal several interesting aspects related to: the ratio between the number and value of the difficulty elements determined by the gymnasts' capabilities and their prevalence in the four apparatus events; the implications of the Code of Points difficulty provisions on the variety of compositions; the relevance of the execution times for the possibility of adding more difficulty elements; the differential notes of the Romanian gymnasts' compositions and their weight in the final score. The Code of Points puts an emphasis on the apparatus handling variety, with implications on the uniqueness and spectacular effects on the judges and public.

Purpose:to show structural elements of individual competition compositions of female gymnasts -Olympic Games (Rio de Janeiro, 2016) finalists. Material:video-computer analysis of Olympic Games participants' exercises; analysis of competition records. Results:it was found that female gymnasts' individual fitness is characterized by the following: correlation of time for Body Difficulty elements' fulfillment and Apparatus Difficulty elements. It is expressed in quickness of preparation to element's fulfillment; in logical and technically accurate transition from element to element. Accent on static elements permitted for sportswomen to reduce movements' area. With dynamic style of elements' fulfillment movements' area was larger. Conclusions:Most female gymnasts demonstrated natural elements' distribution in compositions. Space movements opened the best views of static and dynamic elements' fulfillment that was an evidence of female gymnasts' high sportsmanship.
