The Immunophenotype of Bone Marrow Lymphocytes in Children with Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura

Abstract: Overall, a phenotype characterized by increased pre-B-cell markers along with decreased T cell immunophenotypic markers was observed in bone marrow lymphocytes of children with ITP in the present study. Further larger scale studies are recommended to confirm our findings, as precise mapping of the immunophenotype of lymphocytes in these patients would pave the road to improved diagnosis and treatment.

“…Similar to our study, other studies showed that CD10, CD19, and CD20 B-cell markers were significantly higher in children with acute and or chronic ITP in bone marrow aspiration (12,13). CD19 has been bone marrow in the group of ITP patients because it needed to diagnose them.…”

“…Moreover, infections caused by the invasion of pathogenic microorganisms are also important causes (16)(17)(18). In terms of the specific signaling pathways, the B cell receptor (BCR) pathway of peripheral blood B-lymphocytes in IRH patients is enhanced, and the number and function of CD22 are also enhanced (19,20). The expression of the transcription factor, Transcription factor 2 (Bach2), is also different between IRH patients and normal controls, suggesting that Bach2 is also related to the occurrence of IRH (21).…”
