Abstract:The article analyzes a wide range of sources, the most valuable of which were the works of Alexis de Tocqueville (1805-1859) written by him in the 1830s and 1840s, which allowed him to formulate and characterize his views on the colonization of Algeria and corresponds to the objectives of this work.
