Amaç: Bu çalışma hemodiyaliz uygulanan hastalarda hastalık algısı, umut ve hasta güçlendirme düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte olan bu araştırma, İstanbul’da Kasım 2023 ile Ocak 2024 tarihleri arasında 253 hemodiyaliz hastası ile yapıldı. Çalışma verileri, “Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Hastalık Algısı Ölçeği, Sürekli Umut Ölçeği, Hasta Güçlendirme Ölçeği” ile yüz yüze görüşme yoluyla toplandı. Bulgular: Hastaların yaş ortalaması 57,13±14,32 yıl, hemodiyalize girme süresi 71,34±65,6 ay olup Hastalık Algısı Ölçeği alt boyutlarından Hastalık tipi 4,43±2,99, Süre (akut/kronik) 18,35±1,99, Sonuçlar 19,39±5,16, Kişisel kontrol 18,52±3,03, Tedavi kontrolü 17,12±2,98, Hastalığı anlayabilme 13,79±3,94, Süre (döngüsel) 14,62±3,36, Duygusal temsiller 18,56±6,2, Psikolojik atıflar 18,69±5,2, Risk faktörleri 21,27±6,72, Bağışıklık 9,68±2,77, Kaza veya şans 5,33±2,08 bulundu. Sürekli Umut Ölçeği 39,64±11,32, Hasta Güçlendirme Ölçeği alt boyutlarından Karar alma 3,33±0,8, Kimlik özdeşlik 3,12±0,98, Kişisel kontrol 3,36±1,02, Bilme anlama 3,42±0,96 ve Başkaları ile etkileşim 3,26±1,1 puan bulundu. Sürekli Umut Ölçeği ile sonuçlar (r=-,300, p<0,01), hastalığı anlayabilme (r=- ,337, p<0,01) ve duygusal temsiller (r=-,191, p<0,01) arasında ve Hasta Güçlendirme Ölçeği ile sonuçlar (r=-,364, p<0,01), Hastalığı anlayabilme (r=-,448, p<0,01) ve Duygusal temsiller (r=-,279, p<0,01) arasında negatif ilişki saptandı. Sürekli Umut Ölçeği ve alt boyutları ile Hasta Güçlendirme Ölçeği arasında pozitif ilişki saptandı (r=,762, p<0,01). Özette veriler uzun ve çok fazla sayısal bulgular üzerinden verilmiş. Verilmek istenen mesaj anlaşılmıyor. Sonuç: Hastalığın negatif sonuçlarının, kişinin hastalığını iyi kavrama düzeyini ve kişinin hastalığıyla ilgili endişelerini, umut ve güçlendirme düzeylerini azalttığı belirlendi. Hastaların umut düzeyi artıkça güçlendirme düzeylerinin de arttığı saptandı.

Background: The enhancement of happiness in patients undergoing hemodialysis is positively associated with improved physical and mental health outcomes. Objectives: This study was conducted to identify predictive factors of happiness among a group of Iranian hemodialysis patients. Methods: In 2021, a descriptive study was carried out involving 200 hemodialysis patients from a center in Qazvin province, Iran. The census method was utilized to select eligible patients. Data collection was conducted using a socio-demographic checklist, the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire, and Snyder’s Hope Scale. A multivariate regression model was employed to ascertain the predictors of happiness. Results: The average age of the patients was 59.23 ± 14.43, with an age range from 18 to 86 years. The majority were male (n = 122, 61.0%) and married (n = 134, 67.0%). A significant portion of the patients (69%, n = 138) reported moderate levels of happiness. The study also discovered that educational level (β = 0.248, P ≤ 0.001), marital status (β = -0.268, P ≤ 0.001), adequacy of hemodialysis (β = 0.268, P ≤ 0.001), and hope (β = 0.231, P ≤ 0.001) were significant predictors of happiness in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Conclusions: The findings indicate that the majority of hemodialysis patients in Qazvin experience a moderate level of happiness. Factors such as hope, educational level, marital status, and adequacy of hemodialysis were linked to their happiness. These insights can inform health strategies developed by decision-makers aimed at enhancing the happiness of this patient group.

Aim: This study was conducted to reveal the hopelessness level of the patients receiving hemodialysis treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic and the factors affecting it. Method: This study was conducted with patients receiving HD treatment in dialysis centers affiliated with three hospitals in a province in Northeast Turkey between January and April 2022. The universe of the research is all patients who are treated in the dialysis units of the mentioned hospitals (N=147). The study was completed with 110 patients who met the inclusion criteria and volunteered to participate in the study. The data of the study were collected with the “Descriptive Information Form”, “Charlson Comorbidity Index” and “Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS)”. Results: 58.2% of the patients with a mean age of 63.30±15.33 were male, and 80.0% were married. 50.9% of them were diagnosed with COVID-19, 56.4% perceived themselves in the risk group for COVID-19, and 30.0% stated that COVID-19 causes hopelessness in their daily life.
