“…The Po2 locus is closely linked to the stress susceptibility (Hal) locus (for a review see Archibald & Imlah 1985) and is therefore of interest since its isolation would allow a starting point for genomic walking towards the Hal locus. A genomic pig library was constructed and screened with an oligonucleotide, complementary to the partial N-terminal sequence of PO2 (Van de Weghe et al 1988). A false positive clone which reproducibly hybridizes to the oligonucleotide was picked up and revealed after sequencing to contain a tandem repeat.…”
