“…So with this we concluded that maximum patients are of middle age ie from age 31-60 years comprising 76% of total patients and mean age was found 47.24 ± 12.22. Similar findings was also observed by Adams LA et al 7 and Agrawal R et al 8 who reported mean age 45.0 ± 11.0 and 42.70 ± 10.09 respectively. various biochemical parameters of the patients were also compared across the Gender where it was found variable like triglycerides, ALT, AST were approximately same across the Gender without any significance with P values of (0.533,0.342,0.167) respectively but cholesterol levels across the Gender was significant (P=0.014).…”

“…Therefore, a CT L-S of less than 1 HU could be used as a conservative criterion for diagnosing hepatic steatosis with nonenhanced CT more consistently. diagnosis of hepatic steatosis and is widely generalizable, the low sensitivity of this approach considerably limits the capability of nonenhanced CT in the detection of hepatic steatosisparticularly nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and nonalcoholic steatohepatitisas patients with these conditions frequently have a mild degree of hepatic steatosis (25)(26)(27). Although the CT fi ndings of hepatic steatosis should not be neglected when interpreting CT data, it may be inappropriate to perform nonenhanced CT to diagnose mild hepatic steatosis.…”

“…4,5 When paired biopsies are performed, 30% to 50% of NAFLD patients have histological progression with time. [6][7][8] Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) is an enzyme found abundantly in the cytosol of hepatocytes. 9 Serum ALT level is commonly used to reflect hepatic inflammation and injury in patients with chronic liver disease.…”
