“…As it is evident, the absorption bands mentioned above decrease gradually until disappear with the increasing of treatment temperature. It is also seen that all the CeO 2 powders treated at different temperatures show a band in the 750-400 cm´1 region, which is assigned to the Ce-O stretching vibration [31,32]. Figure 1b shows the FT-IR spectra of the pure PMMA and PMMA/CeO 2 hybrid systems.…”

“…According to the catalysts screening compiled in Figure 3, ceria-base catalysts are among the most effective for soot combustion, and this has promoted an intense research activity during the last years on different ceria-based catalysts for Diesel soot combustion like, among others, ceria doped with Zr [25,[35][36][37][38], Fe [36,39], La [21,36,38], Pr [21,36], Sm [21,36], Tb [36], Cu [40][41][42], Mn [40,43], and Mo [44] and different compounds supported on ceria such as K/Ceria [34,45], Co/Ceria [45][46][47][48][49], Ba,K/Ceria [50,51], Cu-V/Ceria [52], Ag/Ceria [53,54] or Cu/Ceria [55].…”

“…These results suggested that the amount of added cobalt oxide might be too low to be detected by the present XRD or the cobalt oxide might be dispersed well on the surface of TiO 2 . Even though the diffraction peaks of cobalt oxide could not be detected by XRD, it has been reported that cobalt oxide would exist as cobalt monoxide (CoO) on supported samples when the loading amount of added cobalt precursor was low [20,24]. Therefore, the most possible cobalt species formed on the present samples would be CoO.…”
