The Higgs sector of the μνSSM and collider physics

Abstract: Abstract:The µνSSM is a supersymmetric standard model that accounts for light neutrino masses and solves the µ problem of the MSSM by simply using right-handed neutrino superfields. Since this mechanism breaks R-parity, a peculiar structure for the mass matrices is generated. The neutral Higgses are mixed with the right-and left-handed sneutrinos producing 8×8 neutral scalar mass matrices. We analyse the Higgs sector of the µνSSM in detail, with special emphasis in possible signals at colliders. After studying… Show more

“…Models with broken R-parity and non-minimal superfield content, on the other hand, exhibit moderate or large displaced vertices with non-prompt jets or leptons in the final states (see, for example, Refs. [70,71]) with more complex Higgs cascade decays [71] and occasional correlations with neutrino physics [72] following [73], which can be used for discrimination. We also note that four leptons can be produced in h 0 3 decays, but with a very reduced production cross section.…”

“…Analyses of the SSM, with attention to the neutrino and LHC phenomenology, have also been addressed in [2,7,8,[11][12][13][14]. Other analyses concerning cosmology such as gravitino dark matter and electroweak baryogenesis can be found in [15,16], respectively.…”

“…On the contrary, nonminimal SUSY models with 6 R p produce an irreducible imposter for this specific signal. Nevertheless, there exist other unique decay modes, for example, multilepton final states from long Higgs-to-Higgs cascades [13], which can provide a distinctive signal of the SSM because more Higgses are present. It is also worth remarking in this context that whereas the trilinear 6 R p terms in the SSM are useful for reproducing neutrino data at tree level and for solving the problem, trilinear 6 R p terms such asL iLjÊ c k do not attempt to solve the problem and generate neutrino masses only through loops.…”

“…This unusual phenomenology was explored first in Refs. [9,12,13,14], discussing the decay properties of the LSP assumed to be the lightest neutralino, as well as novel Higgs decays. Further, detailed collider analyses for a Higgs-like scalar decaying into a pair of neutralinos was also discussed in Refs.…”
