The heating effect of strain gauges on Araldite models

Abstract: The rise in temperature was measured in the locality of an excited electrical resistance strain gauge fixed to the edge of unloaded Araldite plates, during a period of 30 min. The tests were carried out in air, in transformer oil and also when the gauge was encapsulated in the A raldite.
