“…The analysis of data makes possible to allocate hydroxides of metalloids as a specific class of compounds (representatives of this class are B(OH) 3 , Si(OH) 4 , As(OH) 3 , Sb(OH) 3 , Ge(OH) 4 , etc). Precise V 1 2 data are measured for B(OH) 3 (Ellis and McFadden, 1972;Ward and Millero, 1974;Hnědkovský et al, 1995;Ganopolsky et al, 1996;Abdulagatov and Azizov, 2004) and for As(OH) 3 (Anderson and Story, 1923;Bjellerup et al, 1957;Perfetti et al, 2008). For Si(OH) 4 the partial molar volumes were estimated from the equation (Manning, 1994) describing solubility of quartz in water.…”

“…The energy of oxidation of As 2 O 3 (aq) to As 2 O 5 (aq) was taken from the work of Bjellerup (12) and corrections were applied to account for As 2 O 5 oxidation. (13) In the combustion of organic iodine compounds, only elemental iodine is found in the combustion products.…”

“…The infinite-dilution heat-capacity values for both arsenic species at the reference conditions of 298 K, 0.1 MPa, C p (As(OH) 3 ) = 85 ± 10 J/(mol K), C p (AsO(OH) 3 ) = 105 ± 10 J/(mol K), were obtained by linear extrapolation of the moderate-temperature data measured in this study at 324 and 348 K versus absolute temperature. Our value for As(OH) 3 may be compared to that reported by Bjellerup et al (1957) from limited heat-capacity measurements on 0.1 m arsenious acid solutions, C p $ 98 J/(mol K). No other experimental data could be found in the literature.…”
