“…The further growth of hydrate is controlled by mass transfer of water or hydrate former through the film. Many experimental and/or theoretical studies on the growth of hydrate film have been carried out by several groups (Freer et al, 2001;Ma et al, 2002;Mochizuki and Mori, 2006;Mori, 2001;Ohmura et al, 2000Ohmura et al, , 2005Peng et al, 2007Peng et al, , 2008Peng et al, , 2009Saito et al, 2010Saito et al, , 2011Sun et al, 2007;Taylor et al, 2007;Uchida et al, 1999Uchida et al, , 2002, including the morphology of hydrate film, the growth rate of hydrate film, the thickness of hydrate film, the mechanism of hydrate film growth, and so on. However, so far it is still a controversial topic on the growth mechanism of hydrate film.…”

“…The author believed that NaCl solution made the function of enhancing the reduction effect of SDS on the surface tension of liquid phase and it could make low concentration of SDS have the equal effect with that of high concentration. Sun et al [28] held the opinion that when SDS concentration was up to the critical micelle concentration, the effect of SDS on reducing surface tension reached the largest point. NaCl can strengthen the effect of SDS on reducing the surface tension and promote the SDS utility.…”

“…In this paper efforts are conducted to using ANFIS and ANN for predicting the relationship of temperature and pressure with growth rate of methane hydrate using experimental data of Chang Feng and Chang Yu [11,16]. The results could be useful in controlling and managing the methane hydrate formation for preventing or accelerating its formation.…”

“…Chang Feng and Chang Yu [11,16] proposed an innovative method to measure the rate of hydrate growth. As it is shown in Figure 5, the hydrate was allowed to form at the gas-liquid interface of a methane gas bubble suspended in a stagnant water phase.…”
