The security of IoT networks is an important concern to researchers and business owners, which is taken into careful consideration due to its direct impact on the availability of the services offered by IoT devices and the privacy of the users connected with the network. An intrusion detection system ensures the security of the network and detects malicious activities attacking the network. In this study, a deep multi-layer classification approach for intrusion detection is proposed combining two stages of detection of the existence of an intrusion and the type of intrusion, along with an oversampling technique to ensure better quality of the classification results. Extensive experiments are made for different settings of the first stage and the second stage in addition to two different strategies for the oversampling technique. The experiments show that the best settings of the proposed approach include oversampling by the intrusion type identification label (ITI), 150 neurons for the Single-hidden Layer Feed-forward Neural Network (SLFN), and 2 layers and 150 neurons for LSTM. The results are compared to well-known classification techniques, which shows that the proposed technique outperforms the others in terms of the G-mean having the value of 78% compared to 75% for KNN and less than 50% for the other techniques.

Industria 4.0 e Internet de las Cosas (IoT) han revolucionado la forma de gestionar procesos en organizaciones, incluidos los restaurantes. El objetivo es identificar tendencias en producción científica en uso del IoT en servicios de restaurantes. Se realiza revisión de literatura en Scopus para construir indicadores de cantidad y estructura. Los resultados resaltan creciente investigación y difusión, particularmente, India, Estados Unidos, China y Emiratos Árabes, por diferentes autores e instituciones. Las tendencias investigativas se asocian con el uso, automatización y enrutamiento de dispositivos móviles inteligentes, interconexión mediada por IoT en ciudades inteligentes, utilización de datos procedentes de la Web, implementación de redes neuronales para generar recomendaciones, gestión de residuos, aprendizaje automático y la aplicación del IoT en servicios industriales. Se concluye que los beneficios se reflejan en mayor toma de decisiones y productividad, control de inventario, reducción de deshechos, ahorro de costos y mejora en experiencia del cliente.

This paper focuses on examining IoT applications in marketing research and provides information on how organizations utilize IoT devices and other new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and social media to promote various products and services. Moreover, this study specifies how the consistent use of IoT technologies results in substantial organizational competitiveness. The paper also explains how IoT can be referred to as a new component of business analytics and digital marketing and discusses the challenges related to introducing IoT solutions. The most pressing issues that need to be addressed in the IoT context are described as ethical and data privacy issues. It can be explained by the fact that a substantial amount of data is generated during the development of IoT solutions, which raises the question of whether the respective information could be properly managed. It necessitates implementing a transparent, ethical framework, which should be supported by an adequately regulatory process. The extensive exploration of IoT solutions allows academics and marketing practitioners to generate a wide range of data that can be used to improve products and services provided to diverse consumer groups. Therefore, this paper offers a framework for the collaboration process between academics and practitioners. This collaboration in developing IoT tools is marked by adopting a holistic approach to facilitating the progress of such innovation. Academic researchers’ expertise can be utilized to generate creative and innovative ideas on the IoT sector. The combination of important theoretical assumptions and practical experience is vital to achieving the strategic goals of the collaboration between academics and practitioners.
