This study aims to test the hypothesis that explains the relationship between tax revenue and government spending in six Indonesian regions. Furthermore, the units of analysis were districts and cities in each region from 2006 to 2017, and a Granger panel causality approach was used. The results showed five experienced bidirectional causalities between tax revenues and local government spending out of the six regions, namely Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and the Bali & Nusa Tenggara. Also, there was fiscal synchronisation in five regions, while the tax-spend hypothesis applies in the Papua & Maluku regions. Therefore, the local governments in these regions need to be careful in deciding actions related to increasing revenue. This can be achieved through the tax sector's optimisation and expenditure increment by encouraging public spending from the administration.

This article expounds one of the first attempts to explore the relationship between tourist arrivals and gross domestic product (GDP) in Montenegro and Slovenia. Both countries are newcomers on the tourist destinations map, derived from what was previously Yugoslav republics existing as a singular emerging tourist destination. Data vector for empirical analysis covers quarterly change of GDP at constant prices and monthly data for tourist arrivals during January 2010 -December 2019 as an endogenous variable. The cointegration is used in the modelling structure. The empirical results confirm research hypothesis of uni-causal relationship of economic growth-led domestic tourism growth in Montenegro and one cointegrated vector. No cointegration vector was confirmed for Slovenia. These results are important for research, policymakers and tourism practice. Considering that, tourism and economic growth have a different distribution of causalities during the expansion period with a boost of tourist arrivals and vice versa during the economic downturn.

ÖzGelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerin günümüzde karşılaştığı en önemli sorunlar arasında bütçe açıkları yer almaktadır. Bu durum gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkeleri bünyesinde barındıran Ekonomik Kalkınma ve İşbirliği Örgütü (OECD) için de geçerlidir. Ortaya çıkan bütçe açıklarının kapatılmasında vergiler, borçlanma ve harcamaların miktar ve bileşenlerinde ayarlamaların yapılması şeklinde başvurulabilecek bir takım araçlar bulunmaktadır. Ancak, bu araçlardan hangisine başvurulacağı sorusunun cevabı gerek vatandaşlar gerekse politika yapıcılar açısından önemlidir. Bu nedenle, kamu gelirleri ve kamu harcamaları arasındaki ilişki ve bu ilişkinin yönünün belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, 36 OECD ülkesinin 1995-2018 dönemine ait yıllık verileri kullanılarak kamu gelirleri arasında olan vergiler ve borçlanma ile kamu harcamaları arasındaki ilişki analiz edilmiştir. Eşbütünleşme sonuçlarına göre vergi yükü ile borç yükü arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Nedensellik analizi sonuçlarına göre ise OECD ülkelerinin genelinde mali senkronizasyon hipotezinin geçerli olduğu, kamusal finansmanı için borçlanmaya gidildiği, borç sonucu elde edilen gelirin harcamaları arttırdığı ve artan harcamaların finansmanı için yeniden borçlanmaya başvurulduğu tespit edilmiştir.
