The Genera Salsola and Suaeda (Amaranthaceae) and Their Value as Fodder

Abstract: Halophytes are salt-tolerant plants with a potential for use as livestock fodder in the future. Among these plants that can grow on saline habitats as well as under extreme climatic conditions are the species of the genera Salsola and Suaeda, a promising animal feed source.
