The Garden and Landscape as an Interdisciplinary Resource Between Experimental Science and Artistic–Musical Expression: Analysis of Competence Development in Student Teachers

Abstract: The garden is a major educational resource that can be used for all areas of knowledge from an interdisciplinary perspective as it reflects the complexity and interactions of the natural environment. This research was carried out in the academic years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 with 418 participants of from the second, third, and fourth year of the Degree in Primary Education at the University of Valencia. The use of the garden and the landscape is analyzed as a non-formal context for training primary school teac… Show more

“…As an important part of urban construction, landscape has multiple ecological, cultural, social, and aesthetic functions and is the carrier of artistic, ecological services and greening effects in urban development planning [1]. Garden vegetation is an important component of the urban ecosystem, and scientific vegetation landscape construction is not only to expand the greening area, but also to conduct systematic ecological evaluation of the landscape, which is of great significance to the formation of a healthy and beneficial vegetation landscape layout for urban development [2].…”

“…In order to complete the generation of interactive three-dimensional virtual landscape environment, virtual reality technology needs to combine computer graphics system and various display and control interface equipment to realize the generation of landscape environment. Presenting the design process in a modular form can enhance the innovation ability and expand the design resources [2,3]. However, modularization contains a large amount of data, so how to effectively integrate the required information is an important problem that designers need to explore at this stage.…”
