The article deals with the development o digital law as an instrument for regulating the digital economy. It is proved that, within the academic environment, the concept of “Internet law” is still more well-established than the concept of “digital law”. It is in this manner that the legal sphere responds to the challenges of the digital revolution and reflects the digital economy. The debate as to whether “Internet law” can be considered either as a separate branch of law or as a branch of legislation has not yet subsided. Nevertheless, “Internet law” is undoubtedly an independent academic discipline, textbooks on which are published in Russia. However, Russia needs to develop a digital economy; this is why the national project “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation” was adopted in 2018, regulatory support for which forms the basis of digital law in Russia. At the same time, the extensive experience of digital economy regulation in both its neighbouring countries and beyond is taken into account. Especially attractive is the national strategic model, which assumes the most rapid procedure for adopting changes and consequently adapting digital legislation, is aimed at the long-term perspective, and lets popular opinion — as well as the opinions of public organizations, the business community, and government representatives — be taken into account. In addition to foreign experience in regulating the digital economy, we should also use the best practices of domestic and foreign legal science.

The article is devoted to the study of problems arising as a result of the impact of modern digital environment on such traditional categories of civil law as object and subject of legal relations. As a result of the ongoing processes of digitization of social relations, a specific means of payment that is electronic money, the nature of which remained unresolved by the legislator, appeared in the current legislation. An analysis of existing approaches has led to the conclusion that the doctrine usually qualifies electronic money as a type of obligation, money law, a requirement expressed in electronic form. They are independent objects of civil rights that do not coincide with non-cash money and with "digital money" (cryptocurrency). Furthermore, the article concluded that, besides the change in the existing approaches to the objects of civil legal relations, the Internet environment has led to the transformation of the existing ideas about their subjects, as a result of which the accepted definition of this civil law category becomes ineffective. It is argued that the Internet space contains subjects with some specific features, such as unlimited composition; a high degree of anonymity; extraterritoriality of action; self-management and self-organization. These features do not allow the effective use of civil law to resolve conflicts. The arising difficulties have been studied using the example of the participation of public legal entities and their officials in the Internet.

In the paper, the author analyzes the legal category «act of civil status» from the point of view of information law. The purpose of this work is to characterize the «act of civil status» as a type of information and the object of information legal relations. The author uses general and special methods of scientific knowledge (historical, comparative, formal-legal, dialectical, etc.). Results: it is concluded that the act of civil status (in text or digital format) should be classified as restricted information. This information is subject to special rules of disclosure and cannot be disseminated.
