The functions ofWt1in mouse gonad development and somatic cells differentiation

Abstract: Wilms’ tumour 1 (Wt1) encodes a zinc finger nuclear transcription factor which is mutated in 15–20% of Wilms’ tumor, a pediatric kidney tumor. Wt1 has been found to be involved in the development of many organs. In gonads, Wt1 is expressed in genital ridge somatic cells before sex determination, and its expression is maintained in Sertoli cells and granulosa cells after sex determination. It has been demonstrated that Wt1 is required for the survival of the genital ridge cells. Homozygous mutation of Wt1 cause… Show more

“…Since HMMR has been associated with immune infiltration in many experiments, 45 studying transcription factors co‐expressed with it might be able to infer the connection from the cell surface to the nucleus. FOXC1 and WT1 Transcription Factor (WT1) 46 are transcription factors among the three co‐expressed genes, while TGFBR3 47 is a growth factor receptor. Furthermore, it is well known that the transcription factors such as AP‐1 are important regulators of the immune response 48 .…”

“…SCs have been widely applied in fundamental studies, such as facilitating the survival and proliferation of germ cells, ESCs and differentiation and growth of mesenchymal stem cells (Baazm et al, 2017; Chen et al, 2022). SCs can also be differentiated into human germ cells (R. Zhang, Chen, et al, 2021).…”

“…SCs play important roles in male determination and male gonad development, and support the pluripotency maintenance of ESCs (Baazm et al, 2017;Miryounesi et al, 2013). This study revealed that SCs have been widely applied in fundamental studies, such as facilitating the survival and proliferation of germ cells, ESCs and differentiation and growth of mesenchymal stem cells (Baazm et al, 2017;Chen et al, 2022). SCs can also be differentiated into human germ cells (R. Zhang, Chen, et al, 2021).…”

“…5A). CL1, CL3, CL5, and CL8 were recognized as early GC (eGC) through high expression of WT1 [29], TNNI3 [25] and WNT6 [30], and the low expression of VCAN [31], Although we recognized these cells, the mapping condition was not ideal. Thus, we performed cell functions analysis with GO and KEGG (Fig.…”
