The Frequency of Catheter-Related Infections in Children: One-Year Experience

Abstract: Objective: Intravascular catheters are used with increased frequency in intensive care units in the management of children. However, in parallel with the increase in the use of catheters there is also an increase in the frequency of catheter related bloodstream infections. The aim of this study is to evaluate the rate and risk of infections associated with intravascular catheterization.
