Significant changes have occurred in the business world, with one of the most notable being the transformation of technology into digitalization. An example of this digitalization in the logistics sector is the implementation of electronic delivery orders (E-DO), aimed at enhancing convenience and efficiency in logistics activities. The objective of this research was to analyze the extent of influence that electronic delivery orders, logistics digitalization, and logistics service quality exerted on import document activities at Semarang port. Additionally, this study aimed to examine the role of logistics service quality as a mediating variable in the relationship between E-DO and logistics digitalization concerning import document activities. The research employed quantitative research methods, with a sample of 173 individuals selected through random sampling techniques, primarily comprising employees working in the logistics operations division and the export and import documentation division of shipping companies located in Semarang port. Data were collected through a questionnaire utilizing a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 7. Subsequently, the data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4 software to determine the relationships between variables. The findings of this research revealed that Electronic Delivery Orders (E-DO) had a significant influence on the quality of logistics services, although E-DO did not significantly impact import document activities. Furthermore, logistics digitalization was found to significantly enhance the quality of logistics services but did not exert a noteworthy influence on import document activities. The quality of logistics services was identified as having a significant effect on import document activities. Additionally, logistics service quality was recognized as a mediating factor in the relationship between electronic delivery orders and logistics digitalization concerning import document activities, with a substantial influence.

The initiative of One Belt One Road (OBOR) has economically benefited many countries in terms of export and import cargo. Malaysia is one of the countries that greatly export and import commodities business across international borders via different modes. However, this study shows that the OBOR initiative’s adaptation in Malaysia seaports is still beginning. The purpose of this study is to identify the issues faced by Malaysian seaports, to adapt the OBOR initiative, as well as to develop a new approach to overcome the obstacles that have been identified. A qualitative research approach was carried out to archive the objective of this study. A total of six maritime experts were interviewed and the results were analyzed by content analysis and coded using Nvivo 12 software. The results show that Malaysia suffers from financial instability, a lack of port capacity, and poor employee readiness. To overcome the issues, the experts proposed upgrading the port capacity, improving the port system with modern technology, and expanding the employee’s knowledge, as well as the safety and security of the port. This study proposes a novel framework to adapt maritime tourism as a new business market into OBOR strategy. This framework will overcome the current issues that Malaysian seaports have encountered. In the current digital world, the introduction of many advanced technologies known as “Smart” has great potential to progress the maritime tourism agenda into a smart maritime tourism industry to gain more benefits.

Ocean-based countries has more advantages compare to a landlock regions where there face challenges on the access to the oceanography activities. Beyond major maritime trading and transportation business, maritime tourism business is one of the economically contributing sectors for coastal region nations. The main aim of this paper is to (a) identify the role of seaport museum and maritime museum, (b) to explore the benefits of seaport museum and maritime museum towards seaport industry, (c) proposing a framework for the future research direction on seaport tourism as a complementary business opportunity for seaport industry. Bibliometric analysis technique was adopted with VoS viewer, and a content analysis on 30 research articles were performed to derive the results and then coded with NVivo 12 software. The result shows that, there are nine key measurement factors needed to be considered to archive the objectives. Seaport museum and maritime museum are not the same, whereas maritime museum only focuses on all the sea-based artifacts while seaport museum focuses on the specific sea-based artifacts which are in the port limits. Moreover, both the museums encourage the port city development and have a high impact to the seaport revenue generation.
