“…We calibrated the thermocouples by using the melting points of pure NaNO 3 (306.8 C) and NaCl (800.5 C) reagents at ambient pressure, and the accuracy of our temperature measurements is ±1.5 C, which is consistent with that reported by Bassett et al [5] Instead of having two guide posts as in HDAC-V, the new type of HDAC (HDAC-VT) has three, such that it greatly improves the quality of alignment of the two diamonds against the Re gasket to minimize the force needed to seal the fluid sample and facilitate experiments at elevated pressures.
