The present status of hypernuclear γ-ray spectroscopy with Hyperball is summarized. We observed two γ transitions of 16 Λ O(1 − → 1 − , 0 − ) and obtained the strength of the ΛN tensor force. In 10 B(K − , π − γ) data, we did not observe the spin-flip M1 transition of 10 Λ B(2 − → 1 − ), but γ rays from hyperfragments such as 7 Λ Li(7/2 + → 5/2 + ) and 9 Λ Be(3/2 + → 1/2 + ) were observed. In 11 B(π + , K + γ) data, we observed six γ transitions of 11 Λ B. We also attempted an inclusive γ-ray measurement with stopped K − beam. † Present address:

In this contribution, we discuss the potential of Λ-hypernuclear physics. A short overview of current experiments is given and the essential features of Λ hypernuclei are briefly mentioned. The observation of the heavy hyper Hydrogen 6 Λ H revived interest in identification of hyperfragments -products of the strong decay of a primary hypernuclei. The registration of hypernuclei 6 Λ H and 8 Λ H was already put on the list of tasks for Nuclotron. Theoretical background is pointed out and experimental possibilities are compared with other experiment. Our contribution is inspired by the possibility to identify hyperfragments in the reaction (e, e K + ). In the near future two experiments: at JLab and at Mainz will provide a systematic study of the fragments from the primary p-shell hypernuclei. It is an important extension of the very successful experiments investigated discrete part of hypernuclear spectra. We present an approach to identification hyperfragments from p-shell hypernuclei. As a first step we analyze the decay of the components of Strange Analogue States (p Λ p −1 , s Λ s −1 ) for hypernuclei A ≤ 9 using Translation Invariant Shell Model (TISM). The attention is focused on the nuclear structure role of concrete decay channels population. Some predictions are given.

A hypernulear γ-ray spectroscopy experiment (E13) will be performed using K − beam at the K1.8 beam line of the J-PARC Hadron Experimental Facility in 2015. In this experiment, we will determine the B(M 1) value of the Λ spin-flip transition of the ground state doublet in 19 Λ F to investigate the magnetic moment of a Λ hyperon in nuclei. In order to check the performance of the whole spectrometer system of E13, a commissioning run was performed at the K1.8 beam line in 2013. We confirmed that the E13 setup is almost ready for the next beam time in 2015. In particular, new detectors for suppressing events from the two main K − decay modes in the on-line and off-line analyses are installed. As a result, the signal to noise ratio of gamma spectra is drastically improved, and the sensitivity to the B(M 1) measurement is expected to increase.
