“…The flipped classroom-sometimes called reverse (Halili & Zainuddin, 2015), backwards (McLaughlin et al, 2014), inverted (Bates & Galloway, 2012), and upside down (Zhang, Ma, & Liu, 2014) classroom-is an instructional model that inverts the traditional lecture-plus-homework format (Arnold-Garza, 2014). That is, the tasks traditionally assigned as homework are now accomplished inside the classroom and the tasks traditionally accomplished in class are now accomplished at home (Bergmann & Sams, 2012).…”

La clase invertida, también conocida como clase al revés (backwards classroom), instrucción inversa (reverse instruction), invirtiendo la clase (flipping the classroom) enseñanza inversa (reverse teaching), enseñanza invertida (flip teaching), etc.…”

“…The health promotion program planning courses are structured upon the principles of service-learning (Cashman & Seifer, 2008) and are taught utilizing the flipped-classroom model, in which students learn basic concepts outside the classroom and practice those concepts with the instructor acting as a coach within the classroom environment (Howard, Scharff, & Loux, 2017;McLaughlin et al, 2014). In response to employer needs calling for colleges to place more emphasis on teamwork skills in diverse groups, problem solving, and applied knowledge in real-world settings (Association of American Colleges and Universities, 2011;Hart Research Associates, 2010), the courses are structured so that students, working in groups of 4-5, partner with a local community organization to determine a health-related need and develop a program plan that is implemented within the community setting.…”
