Abstract:The paper proposes a new hybrid Bayesian network learning algorithm, termed Forward Early Dropping Hill Climbing (FEDHC), designed to work with either continuous or categorical data. FEDHC consists of a skeleton identification phase (learning the conditional associations among the variables) followed by the scoring phase that assigns the causal directions. Specifically for the case of continuous data, a robust to outliers version of FEDHC is also proposed. The paper manifests that the only implementation of MM… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
