Abstract:Patients of chronic alcohol abuse can present with a variety of acid-base disorders and electrolyte disturbances. Lactic acidosis (LA) along with alcoholic ketoacidosis is an infrequent and underappreciated cause of wide anion-gap metabolic acidosis in alcoholic patients.
