The fatal affinity of the ‘Sonderweg’ revisited: The diffusion of emergency powers in Germany, Japan and Korea (1871–1987)

Abstract: Many authoritarian regimes in Asia have utilized emergency powers to legitimize their measures of suppressing political opponents and maintaining power.
