Abstract. The results of 41 surgically created facial dimples were reviewed. Observations and some long-term follow-up are presented. There is a high rate of acceptance by patients. Since the approach is intraoral, external scars are avoided. Complications are rare, and when prompt treatment is instituted, a good result is not compromised. Those patients seen for the longest time since their surgery remain pleased with their acquired dimples, which are now difficult to distinguish from those that occur naturally.
