“…The lightweight periclase‐spinel castable exhibited the best resistance to slag corrosion but the worst resistance to slag penetration, while the lightweight alumina‐spinel castable had the best resistance to slag penetration and the worst resistance to slag corrosion . Chen et al fabricated porous alumina spheres with microporous shells and macroporous cores. Because of the microporous shells, the lightweight Al 2 O 3 ‐MgO castable containing these porous alumina spheres exhibited slag resistance similar to that of a typical dense Al 2 O 3 ‐MgO castable (DAMC).…”
