The fabrication of a highly conductive ceria-embedded gadolinium-stabilized bismuth oxide nanocomposite solid electrolyte for low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells

Abstract: We report the synthesis of a nanocomposite solid electrolyte, (1 − x)Bi2O3–Gd2O3:xCeO2 (GDBC), made up of ceria-embedded gadolinium-stabilized bismuth oxide (Bi2O3–Gd2O3, GDB) for low-temperature solid oxide fuel cell (LT-SOFC) applications.

“…Since the 15 LC heterojunction material contains a higher amount of CdS, the adsorption of dyes may also depend on the point of zero charge (pzc) of CdS and the earlier reports presented the point of zero charge of as-synthesized CdS. 58 As a result, at pH values below the pzc, the CdS particles would be positively charged and above this point, it would be negatively charged. From Fig.…”

“…Silver indium sulfide (AgInS 2 ) is a kind of material with excellent photocatalytic performance because of its narrow band gap. 27,28 The chemical bonds of Ag-S and In-S are not equal, allowing an internal electric field to be generated so that AgInS 2 can be used as a catalyst. Unfortunately, AgInS 2 has the problem of fast recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes, which easily leads to unsatisfactory photoelectric performance.…”
