The expression pattern of galectins during human epidermal morphogenesis

Abstract: Introduction: Galectins constitute a phylogenetically conserved family of proteins with high binding affinity for glycoconjugates bearing β-galactoside residues. Surprisingly, knowledge of the expression pattern of galectins during human epidermal morphogenesis is very limited.
