The expression of miRNA-216b is negatively correlated with 18F-FDG uptake in non-small cell lung cancer

Abstract: Background This study aimed to investigate the correlation between miRNA-216b expression in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake by PET/CT and to explore the clinical application value of 18F-FDG PET/CT in miRNA-216b based on therapy for NSCLC. Methods Eighty patients with NSCLC and 40 healthy subjects were enrolled in our study. The SUVmax of the lesion area by PET/CT imaging was calculated. SUVm… Show more

“…LDCT and 18F-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18 F-FDG PET/CT) are common imaging methods, but circulating miRNA is highly speci c and less sensitive in differentiating BPNs from MPNs, implying that circulating miRNA helps other imaging methods in diagnosing benign and malignant lung nodules with precision [30]. miRNA combined with PET/CT has been shown to improve the accuracy of NSCLC diagnosis [31]. On the other hand, assays that evaluate circulating miRNA expression pro les are less physically harmful to patients than imaging methods and are successful at screening and diagnosing LC.…”

“…Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is one of the major subtypes of lung cancer that is associated with poor prognosis [ 14 , 15 ]. At present, the literature reports that the occurrence and development of lung adenocarcinoma are closely related to circular RNA [ 16 18 ], microRNA [ 19 , 20 ], and N6 methyladenosine [ 21 ]. Some scholars have also found some genes related to the differences and prognosis through biological information analysis [ 15 , 22 24 ], for example, EGFR, KRAS, PIK3CA, STEAP1/2, HOXA11, and TCN1.…”

“…LncRNADLGAP1-AS2 regulates miR-503/cyclinD1 to promote nonsmall cell lung cancer cell proliferation [ 35 ]. MiRNA-216b expression was negatively correlated with 18F-FDG uptake in NSCLC [ 36 ]. The overexpression of microRNA-939-5p contributes to cell proliferation and is associated with poor prognosis in glioma [ 37 ].…”
