Enzootic nasal adenocarcinoma (ENA) is a contagious and viral disease in sheep and goats. The disease leads to the death of the affected animals and causes economic losses in infected small ruminant flocks. Epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) is a newly discovered tumor antigen, commonly expressed by several tumors occurring in humans. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a signal protein produced by cells that stimulate the formation of blood vessels and plays an important role in angiogenesis, essential for tumor development. In this study, ENA originating from the nasal mucosa is detected on histopathological and cytopathological examinations, with transmission electron microscopy confirming viral particles in the tumoral cells. The aim of this study was to examine VEGF and EpCAM immunoexpressions using streptavidin-biotin complex immunoperoxidase technique in 24 naturally ENA-affected goats. Sneezing, dyspnea, seromucous or purulent nasal discharge, exophthalmos, and weight loss were commonly observed clinical symptoms. The tumors located in the nasal cavity were generally unilateral and were bilateral in only two cases. Cytological examination of the tumoral masses revealed uniform epithelial cell clusters and abundant inflammatory reaction. On histopathological examination, tubular, papillary, or mixed types of ENA were diagnosed. On ultrastructural examination, intracytoplasmic, spherical, retrovirus-like particles were demonstrated. Immunohistochemically, strong positive reactions were reported for both EpCAM and VEGF in the cytoplasm of the tumor cells. Thus, this study showed that EpCAM and VEGF may have an important role in ENA pathogenesis.

BackgroundDrug-Induced Liver Injury (DILI) changes, occur post exposure to natural or chemical compounds including apoptosis.AimTo assess the H1N1 vaccine-caused DILI by histochemical and immunohistochemical methods.MethodsThis 2014’s experimental study was conducted on 70 albino rats. They were given ArepanrixTM H1N1 vaccine and were divided into 7 groups; 10 mice each, as control (non-vaccinated), vac2 and vac4 injected with 1st and 2nd doses of vaccine (suspension only) and euthanized after 3 weeks each, vac5 euthanized 6 weeks after 2nd dose, mix2 and mix4 injected with 1st and 2nd doses of vaccine (mixture of suspension and adjuvant) and euthanized after 3 weeks each, mix5 and euthanized 6 weeks after 2nd dose. Histopathological evaluation and histochemical assessment of metabolic protein, glycogen and collagen changes using PAS, bromophenol blue, Mallory’s trichrome and immunohistochemistry for caspase 3 on liver tissue paraffin sections were done. Image analysis system Leica QIIN 500 was used. Data were analyzed by SPSS software, using descriptive statistics and ANOVA.ResultsHistopathological changes ranging from subtle up to necrosis were noticed, mainly in mix groups. Metabolic protein and glycogen changes were the maximum in mix5 group (p<0.01). Collagen deposition in sinusoids was higher in mix groups, and maximally in vac5 and mix5. Apoptotic hepatocytes expressing diffuse strong nuclear and cytoplasmic caspase 3 were the highest in mix5.ConclusionH1N1 vaccine can cause DILI by either direct toxic or idiosyncratic metabolic type reactions rather than immunologic hypersensitivity type. It ranges from subtle changes up to necrosis. Caspase 3 is pivotal in liver damage etiology, apoptosis induction and processing. Follow up for at least 2 months after the 2nd dose of H1N1 vaccine is recommended to rule out H1N1-induced DILI.

As microbes are massively risky and have gotten to be safe to about all advertised anti-microbials. Withinthe period of anti-microbial resistance, antimicrobial of natural origin give an successful and cheap alternative for combating resistant strains of Gram negative microorganisms which induce pneumonia e.g. () and () . Cefotaxime is an antimicrobial used in control and treatment of anaerobic bacteria which may be administered with Gentamicin within the treatment of blended contaminations caused by anaerobic and oxygen consuming living beings. Combination treatment has corresponding components of activity. Gentamicin is bactericidal aminoglycoside antibiotic used mainly against Gram negative bacteria. Allium sativum in garlic extract has been known to have inhibitory action & and valuable as helpful specialist against numerous pathological diseases. Expanding Multidrug resistance of pathogens strengths to discover elective strategies for treatment of irresistible infections. Ethical approval: Protocols were approved by the IRB of the Scientific Research Unit (SRU) at Inaya Medical College (IMC) RIYADH (KSA) and antibacterial presented effect for combination of antibiotics and FGE for fourteen days. Indicated a significant (p < 0.05) decrease of TNF-α and elevation in GPx of liver and kidney homogenate. Our data showed that FGH combined antibiotics could protect the liver and kidney against the histopathological and histochemical changes by blocking oxidative damages in addition to restorement of the antioxidant enzymatic profile. FGE displayed the best effect on administration one hour before gentamicin and cefotaxime due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Moreover, the potential use of FGE as a prophylactic agent against multi drug resistant bacteria.
