Abstract:BACKGROUND:
β-thalassemia major (βTM) is a genetic disorder characterized by a deficiency in hemoglobin production, ineffective erythropoiesis, chronic hemolysis, lifelong blood transfusions, iron overload, and increased risk of cardiac complications.
