Abstract: Atypical hemolytic-uremic syndrome (aHUS) is a chronic systemic disease of a genetic nature, which is based on uncontrolled activation of the alternative complement pathway, leading to generalized thrombosis in the vessels of the microvasculature (complement-mediated thrombotic microangiopathy).
